2010: A Library Odyssey


With a focus on technology topics, this year's Support Staff Section One-day Conference is a must attend event! Presentations on yoga, getting that MLS, and BadgerLink round out the day. Take this chance to re-energize and reconnect with colleagues from around the state.

The Commons
As libraries turn more and more to technology, what does that mean for our more traditional services? How does technology change the face of the library? How does the future library differ from today's? Will we still have books on our shelves? How in the world can librarians keep up with the fast pace of technology change? All these questions and more will be answered as Tasha Saecker speaks on the future of libraries and technology.

The Commons
History of gaming: why we game, who are gamers, and what the world can become if we game more. How do libraries relate to gamers?
What roles can we play to help encourage literacy, enhance access to ideas, and promote learning and culture within our library facilities with gaming?

A fun and sometimes irreverent compilation of YouTube videos highlighting library campaigns, outreach programs and even hysterical videos about library stereotypes that are circulating on the Internet.  Served with lunch!
